Cloakroom floor tiles for a small room
A cloakroom floor is often between 1 and 2 square metres. Our minimum order is one box, 12 floor tiles, 0.48 m² in 20x20 cm, so even a small room can have a bespoke design in the colours you choose.
Downstairs toilet tiles: floor and wall
Encaustic tiles can be laid on the floor and the walls of a cloakroom. Floor tiles are 16 mm thick; wall tiles are 12 mm, which allows fixing to plasterboard. The same design can run from floor to wall, or the wall can take a matching plain tile.
Before grouting, the tile receives a water- and oil-repellent sealer, which makes it waterproof. A drop of water should bead on the surface: that shows the sealer is working.
Cleaning a cloakroom
This is the point to know. Encaustic tiles are cleaned with black soap or Marseille soap. Toilet cleaners, bleach, white vinegar and limescale removers damage cement permanently: keep them off the floor and walls.
